Learn from Energy Experts at the 2011 Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Expo
“We can have affordable, clean energy forever.”
Those are the words of John Hofmeister, former President of Shell Oil Company and now a leader in the crusade for America’s clean energy future. He will share his vision as a panelist with key energy experts at this year’s Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy 2011.
With oil prices on the rise and reserves cut off, Hofmeister explains there must be a balanced portfolio to meet demand and lower our dependence on foreign energy. His years of experience at the top of the energy industry have given him unique insight into our current approach to production and regulation, and how it must change to for the country to compete in the emerging Energy Age. Mr. Hofmeister will outline the necessary steps to ensure American competitiveness, create jobs and generate economic growth, or risk ceding leadership to other parts of the world.
“Government, industry, and special interests are denying the American people clean, reliable and affordable energy,” Hofmeister says. “We are constricting energy production in this country in ways that aren’t apparent to most Americans. We can have all the energy we will ever need or want at affordable prices, with a sustainable clean environmental landscape, if we approached the challenge with a short, medium and long term plan.”
He points out that the current model of revamping energy policy ever 2-4 years is failing. “A comprehensive, focused, long-term model, aimed at creating scalable, reliable and sustainable clean energy network is vital to America’s future.”
Hofmeister is calling for an intervention by the American people, together with the US Government, that will cause industry and the special interests that deal with energy and the environment to significantly alter the way energy is produced, distributed and used.
“The most important thing is for Americans to understand what is at stake and what it will take to build this clean energy network and ensure our economic, environmental and national security.” says Hofmeister.
John Hofmeister is one of the 13 energy experts who will keynote at Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy 2011 in the Washington, DC area February 13-16, 2011.
